Senior Full-Stack Developer

Duties

The role is for a passionate senior developer who is an expert in PHP, custom WordPress, along with extensive experience using other technologies such as: Craft CMS, Drupal, back end systems integrations, advanced front end frameworks, and technical solutions architecture. 

The right candidate will be capable of taking a strategic technical lead role in our growing digital consultancy and will help drive the technical development and connected capabilities within the business. We’re looking for someone you can take the reins, to lead and grow a technical team, as well as managing senior client interaction. 

This role will help lead Sonar’s technical development and implementation of a program of work across a large-scale web-application scope of work for some of Australia’s best known education brands. Additionally, we will seek your expertise across other projects and development tasks from time to time. 

This is a full-time role located at our Melbourne office and is an exciting opportunity to join a growing consultancy with big ambitions that truly cares about its people and their personal development – as well as the success of our client partners. 

The Sonar Melbourne office is hybrid – working 3 days a week in the office.  This role would be expected to work in the Melbourne office on Wednesdays and Thursdays and regular client meetings on defined days both on site at the client HQ, and/or at home and Sonar office. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a problem solver and a technologist at heart, bringing a creative, analytical, adaptable, logical and thorough approach.
  • Helping to lead the technical team to develop highly scalable, high-quality code across the business, with focus on Sonar’s largest dev client program of work
  • Structuring, customising and building PHP, integrated WordPress sites, based upon requirements and designs.
  • Solutioning technical problems and opportunities across other technologies and languages
  • Ensuring all technical solutions across the business follow latest design patterns, coding standards, and best practices.
  • Ensuring technical solutions are optimised and make proper use of caching, minimisation and other optimisation techniques.
  • Being a leader in the business across source code management workflows, DevOps and development practices
  • Working with infrastructure and hosting providers, including cloud providers, to design client solutions.
  • Liaise with 3rd party providers to understand technical requirements, define how the clients can best utilise services, and to design technical solutions.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbally and written, and can talk to senior clients (technical and business), application consultants, and infrastructure experts – as well as your immediate office team colleagues.

 

 

Experience

  • At least 8+ years commercial or relevant experience working with a combination of:
      • PHP8 and previous versions
      • Other PHP Frameworks (e.g. Laravel, Craft CMSl)
      • Extensive WordPress experience creating custom themes with integrations such as: Salesforce, Web–Lead Forms, and others
      • JavaScript Frameworks / Libraries (eg. Angular.js, React.js)
      • HTML/CSS and Pre-Processors (e.g Sass or LESS)
      • MySQL or/and MariaDB including data migrations and optimizations
      • Database Design (SQL and NoSQL)
      • Shopify and eCommerce (eg. Woo, Magento) experience a strong plus
  • Working and collaborating within a team environment
  • Experience working with Git and an understanding of best practices for managing and reviewing code within source control services such as BitBucket
  • Experience with DevOps and automating build processes.
  • Experience with cloud environments
  • Comfortable with managing and leading client interaction and enhancing those relationships

This role will help lead the technical development for Sonar Group, as well as require the person to implement and maintain their code for larger programmes, whilst being supported by our wider Dev team as required.

Duties

This role will manage the social media landscape (paid and organic) for a portfolio of key clients. This role will work closely with the Search and Analytics team to drive ROI using social channels through the use of strategic initiatives including but not limited to audience and optimisation tactics and ability to drive creative direction for performance. In this role you will be hands-on in the platforms and client-facing. It is a role that will allow you to leverage your experience, to up and cross skill from new performance disciplines, and to develop your career in digital marketing. 

The opportunity is that you are able to grow these existing clients and coupled with new business are able to grow a practice. The successful candidate will be strategic and analytical and be passionate about getting real results, within a team that truly work to provide value back their clients and end customers. They will be a valued member of the team in being client-facing and able to integrate with a variety of stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop paid and organic social campaign strategies that you see through to implementation, optimization, and reporting mapped to business objectives. Platforms include: Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads• Ability to manage paid campaigns from $5k to $50k+ budgets per month.
  • Learn and leverage other social platforms, including but not limited to, YouTube, Reddit, and Pinterest to drive growth and ROI based on client and target audience needs.
  • Training clients on basics as well as more advanced clients and teams with PPC activities.
  • Own Sonar Creative Guidelines document – ensuring this is kept up to date and remain relevant/easy to use for clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide thought leadership on the direction of these platforms to ensure our clients are up-to-speed and able to leverage the platforms to help their businesses.
  • Interface with account, clients and other stakeholders to request and share information.
  • Lead measurement thinking, including return on investment.
  • Insightful reporting commentary and owning dynamic reporting dashboard eg Looker Studio.

 

 

Experience

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Min 4-years relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills to effectively consult with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent task, time, and people management skills. We require each team member to be able to work autonomously and have strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • 4+ years experience setting up, managing and reporting on campaigns across Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and other social platforms.

LOCATION:

Senior Digital Project Manager

Sonar is looking for an experienced digital Project Manager / Producer who’s able to own the smooth delivery of a large marketing web application/platform project as well as to some smaller development projects across a suite of Sonar’s key clients.

Duties

This role requires a seasoned digital PM, that has proven experience managing detailed web-dev scope of works (SOW), multiple team capabilities to deliver on the SOW, and external client stakeholder management. As well as detailed PM governance across planning, task management, reconciliation, documentation, and generally ensuring the solution is delivered on time and on budget. This is a critical role supporting one of Sonar’s largest clients and part of an integrated digital program of activities.

You will help manage the delivery of a large marketing web application project that includes a range of rich features, functionality, and systems integration points. You will be responsible for ensuring the project remains on track, within scope, and delivered to expectations. You will be part of a wider digital team to support the overall solution delivery and help to ensure the wider Sonar team are achieving the necessary milestone deliverables as scoped. You will need to have extensive experience working within both agile and SLDC project methodologies, using Jira and Atlassian suite to manage and maintain the project tasks & administrative governance, and generally be a strong PM that is confident to make decisions that support the client’s needs, Sonar’s commercial responsibilities, and the team’s capability to deliver. 

In addition to this large web project, you will also help support the wider delivery team across other projects across rolling support & maintenance activities, as well as other strategically aligned enhancements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ownership of the overall Project delivery, management, and reconciliation.
    • Facilitation of scope across teams and client stakeholders.
    • Budget, timing, and milestone management processes.
    • Partnering with wider Sonar team to deliver a best in class solution.

    • Overall budget and scope ownership.

 

Experience

Essential skills and experience:

  • 6+ years’ experience as a digital PM or Producer in a consultancy or agency environment with proven delivery on scalable website and web application solutions.
  • Familiar and experienced using a range of digital delivery tools, including Jira, Figma, other key PM systems.
  • Familiar and experienced with use of Website project management tools to manage development, content, project governance, and risk management.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong presentation and team engagement skill.
  • Excellent team and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to structure and conduct WIP sessions, showcases, and reports clearly, articulate, and with detail.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Provide support for the Lead Consultants in terms of translating broad media plans and business objectives into tactical, innovative paid social campaigns.

Campaign Execution/Implementation
Execute campaigns with the oversight of the Lead Consultants.

Reporting / Analytics
Learn how to create strong, clear reports that demonstrate business understanding by setting out actionable recommendations, so you feel comfortable playing a more lead role here in the future..

Experience

  • 1-2 years experience working in, but not limited to, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Organic Social
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Agency and/or consulting experience (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail – able to demonstrate thoroughness and care taken across all tasks
